Many thanks to all who made such a wonderful contribution to the Folk Weekend in Dromantine. (22nd-24th Feb 2008)

From our point of view it is heartening to see that there still exists in our diocese and beyond a hunger for music in the liturgy and a real willingness to get involved in Church and parish life. Great credit is due to all those folk groups up and down the country that provide opportunities for people of all ages to express their love of God through their parish involvement through the folk group.

The last ten months have been an exciting adventure for all of us in DCF and the culmination of our 25th Anniversary celebrations could not have been better.

The venue proved to be perfect for us and I am sure that it will become a regular base for our time together. Many thanks are also due to the staff at Dromantine who made our stay so memorable. Everything about it was right.

Our journey is one that promises much and as we prepare to end the Lenten season and celebrate Easter, let us offer what we have to the Church with a continued spirit of generosity. Let us continue to build the Kingdom of God on earth in our relationships. Let us reach out the hands of friendship and encouragement to those who are waiting to be asked to be a part of what we do.

DCF are only the conduit for the work that folk groups do. Without your commitment and tireless effort our Church and parish life would not sound half as good.

So
“Say it loud, say it strong
Tell the world what God has done”
